This post is about the Amazon Vine program, aka on Google searches everywhere the “Amazon Reviewer Program”. Keep reading to find out more about it.
If you’re like a lot of women wanting to make an income online from the comfort of their homes and you’re active on TikTok, then you’ve probably seen people talking about a side hustle where people can get paid for Amazon reviews.
I know, I know. Sounds too good to be true. But is it?
What is an Amazon reviewer?
An Amazon Vine reviewer is an individual selected through an exclusive, invite-only program called Amazon Vine.
These reviewers, known as Vine Voices, are chosen based on their insightful feedback and expertise–they’ve already established themselves as reputable review sources on the site.
As Vine Voices, they receive complimentary products from Amazon and are expected to provide honest and informative reviews to help other customers make informed purchasing decisions (hence why it’s so popularly known on search engines as the “Amazon reviewer program”. Lol!
How to get invited to the Amazon "reviewer" program
The best way to be invited to the Amazon Vine Program is to already be writing highly engaging, helpful reviews on Amazon products you have already purchased.
Entry to the program is based on how helpful your reviews are to buyers on the site, so writing generic reviews won’t get you in.
Your reviews need to be unique enough to stand out and be read, but also helpful enough to get the buyer off the fence.
That doesn’t mean blow smoke either. Buyers can sense when you are merely writing for a check.
One of the things I love about the Amazon Vine Program is that they actually encourage you to write about your genuine experience with the product, good, bad or ugly!
Making money with paid reviews
Making money with paid reviews is actually not new. Freelancers and other “corporate dropouts” have been doing this for money ever since they realized bills still needed to be paid and that this is a highly lucrative skillset/strategy.
There are multiple ways to make money with reviews, though Amazon Vine actually isn’t one of them–technically.
Amazon offers two additional programs that do compensate you for sharing your opinion on specific products through various channels, such as sharing photos and videos, as well as influencing your social media audience–the Amazon Associates Program and the Amazon Influencer Program.
Anytime you receive free product for these purposes, though, it is considered income for tax purposes, and the companies who send free product can report it as taxable income on your taxes.
So while you aren’t being paid in cash you are technically being “paid” in product. That make sense?
With the cost-of-living always on the up-and-up, who couldn’t use some goodies gratís?
So how do you become an Amazon reviewer?
Okay, let us get clear on something.
Regular Rich Girl™ is literally here to remind women that regular girls can get rich and they can get rich doing “regular” sh*t.
Becoming an Amazon reviewer is as easy as going into your order history, selecting items that you use most often and writing 2-3 paragraphs about 2-3 sentences in length about your experience with that item, and submitting.
There is no prerequisite to submitting a review. Just do it.
If you want to stand out, snap a quick photo of the item to include with your review. I personally need to see multiple angles of anything I’m planning to spend my money on, big or small.
Including a photo increases the chances your review will be seen, as it is attached to a photo. It also lends social proof to your review since humans are visual creatures!
Now do that over and over and over again so you can justify all those pages of purchase history by establishing some balance.
I’ve created a spreadsheet to help you organize your Amazon purchases and your reviews, so you can create a system that helps you make your Amazon purchases earn their keep!
We hope this article thoroughly explained the “Amazon reviewer program” and helped you uncover another stream of income for your Regular Rich Girl™ toolbox!
